So how long has it been, anyways?!
The year was 2004 when this website just sort of faded off into the sunset, so for those of you playing along at home, that’s about five years too long! For those that don’t recall, and I’ll keep the story short, but basically back in the fall of 2003 I made a pretty big life change by moving across the country from the small Northern Michigan town where I grew up to the much larger city of Tampa, Florida, and while it’s still regarded as probably one of the biggest changes I’ve ever made in my life, it’s also clear to say that the transition to grown up life took a bit of a toll on my creative efforts of the time.
Since then I’ve still managed to do a considerable amount of writing over the years, from a variety of columns including my regular humor column to even a good amount of articles and features for some newspapers back up north, but always in the back of my mind was the idea of eventually getting back to the basics and bringing all of my creative works together in one place for people to enjoy – that’s my goal going forward with the new comedic-genius.com.
I’m looking forward to featuring a lot of new work on this site in the next few months – of course, you’ll always find my latest humor columns here, as well as an ever-increasing archive of columns and articles from days gone by – not even solely humor-related, but also some of the other genres that I’ve dabbled in over the last couple of years. In addition, although I don’t want to entirely let the cat out of the bag just yet, I also think that I’m just about ready to throw my hat into the book publishing ring, so with any luck you can expect to see some items featured here that you can actually purchase and read in the privacy of your own bathroom, should that be your preferred place for reading such materials! And then as we look even farther into 2009, we may even see some of the collaborative efforts that I previously organized sprout up once again – as those new features develop, you’ll be certain to hear about them here first!
Needless to say, I’m pretty excited about finally being able to bring my creative writing back online to a place where I can once again share my hilarious endeavors with all of you on a regular basis. It’s been a great trip down memory lane over the past weeks and months getting everything organized once again, and I think the months ahead as I begin to try my luck at a few new ventures are going to be even better. Please feel free to browse around the new site to your heart’s content – I’m really happy with the way that it turned out – and also, feel free to drop me a line if there’s anything else in particular that you’d like to see here as we proceed into the new year and beyond!
