Some might be so bold as to profess that kids say the darnedest things, but in my experience, words truly asinine can only come from the mind of an adult…and I do use the word “mind” loosely! The following are a small collection of things that I overheard while wandering the trails found at various visitor centers throughout the ‘Glades and all I can say is … I couldn’t make this stuff up, folks…
A Man and His Lady Friend:
Woman – “Wow – look at that!”
Man – “That’s a stick.”
Woman – “Oh…”
Mother to Her Young Child:
“Be quiet! You’re going to scare away all of the nature…”
Another Mother / Child Conversation:
Son (watching a nearby gator from the boardwalk in astonishment) - “I probably wouldn’t get it back, but I could throw my camera at him from here.”
Mother (completely without expression) – “That’s not very respectful of the wildlife. Why would you even say something like that?”
Son - “Sorry, mother…”
Father to His Sons:
“Put those sticks down!”
Some Dude’s Wife, in Response to the Scene Photographed Below:
“They must be brother and sister!”

Note: WTF?! I don't know about you, but that's not how brothers and sisters act in my family...
Husband to His Wife Over a Cell Phone:
“Honey, we can only talk for a minute because I only have signal right here and even it’s fading whenever the wind blows!”
“I said, I only have signal RIGHT HERE where I’m standing now – I don’t get a signal back at the campground!!!”
“Oh forget it, she’s your mother, not mine…”
