While the original justification for this Minnesotan adventure was in the form of a good friend getting married, one of the side benefits of this weekend layover was an opportunity to visit the esteemed Mall of America. Ironically owned by Canadians, the Mall of America is the largest mall in, well, America, and contains over 520 stores … enough to make my feet hurt just thinking about it!
But sore tootsies aside, it became abundantly clear within minutes of walking into this megalodon of a mall that the sheer variety of the bizarre is what makes this mall truly unique because what may be weird to one person seems like the perfect Christmas gift to the next, and apparently this mall seeks to cater to all of these people. That said, wandering this maze of a shopping complex seemed to provide one chuckle opportunity after another until I finally collapsed into a bowl of Sweet & Sour Chicken over in Food Court C at the end of the day!
Nonetheless, I saw many an amusing venue during this day’s explorations – these were some of my all-time favorites…
