Local Chinese Restaurant Boasts 100% Revenue Increase from Local Writer over Weekend

TAMPA (Just Laugh) – “Somebody had mentioned to me in passing that it would be a good place to eat,” local writer Scott Sevener explained, “so we decided to give it a shot.”

It was that kind of logic that led to an impressive increase in sales for the Wang Tung Dining Room in Tampa, Florida last weekend as they were able to boast a 100% increase in revenue from the writer who had never eaten there before. Offering a variety of plated Asian dishes, as well as a full-service buffet from 4pm – 11pm (midnight on weekends), Wang Tung has refrained from advertising expenses and instead put those funds into building their storefront, relying on word of mouth to draw in new business such as Mr. Sevener’s.

“They had a pretty nice restaurant, I guess,” Sevener elaborated, “cleaner than most of these places seem to be. And they kept my soda glass full – service was good. I’d probably go back, if I was in the area anyways.” The writer continued to explain that he was completing some early holiday shopping in the area that day and doesn’t normally frequent that part of town, but was pleasantly surprised to find “a Chinese place that wasn’t totally disgusting.” While Sevener left the restaurant to continue with his afternoon’s agenda, Wang Tung co-owner Jing Tung was already making plans to retain their newfound business.

“Guy really liked crab rangoon,” Tung exclaimed as he rapidly sorted through an array of notes he had hastily written on the restaurant’s napkins, “so we make more next time. He’ll like that…” The man then offered us some fliers to pass around the office featuring a special $2 off coupon from the typical weekend buffet price of $7.95 per person.
